Principle of Radiofrequency Lifting

Monopolar Radiofrequency (RF) Lifting is a non-surgical lifting method that utilizes the resistive heat generated as electrical currents flow through the skin.

This heat warms collagen fibers in the skin's dermis layer up to 60~70 degrees to induce immediate contraction. At the same time, it is known to stimulate fibroblasts to promote the production of new collagen and elastin.

Immediately after treatment: Collagen in the dermis contracts, leading to immediate improvement in elasticity.

Weeks later: New collagen is produced as the skin recovers from heat damage. This can further enhance the lifting effect.

Thus, the treatment can have both immediate and delayed effects.

Monopolar vs. Bipolar

Radiofrequency lifting is categorized into monopolar and bipolar, depending on the energy delivery method.

1. Impedance Check (Resistance Measurement) Method

Oligio: Measures impedance (skin resistance) only once at the start of the procedure and applies the same energy throughout the entire treatment area.

Tenssrma: measures impedance in real-time for each shot to adjust energy output.

This method is similar to Thermage, and it helps reduce errors due to varying skin resistance across different areas, ensuring more uniform and stable thermal energy delivery.

Post-Procedure Precautions

For those with thin skin, redness, such as tip marks, may persist in the treated area for about 1-2 weeks. This is usually a symptom that naturally subsides over time.
