[Same RF, Different Depths] Serf Lifting
We've added depth selection to the elasticity improvement of existing monopolar RF. Serf uses two RF energies, 6.78MHz and 2MHz, 3-step depth control (SHALLOW / MIDDLE / DEEP), and 10 energy levels to provide customized RF lifting that designs different depths and intensities as needed for different areas even within the same face.

What is CERF Lifting?
For sagging skin, you don't need to treat all areas at the same depth.
If you have increasing fine lines around your eyes, your cheeks are saggier than before, and your lower face feels heavy, blurring your jawline,
the depth of concern within the same face can differ.
Treating thin areas like around the eyes, areas where volume needs to be preserved like the cheeks, and areas requiring deeper elasticity improvement like the lower face,
all in the same way is not always the best approach.
CERF utilizes two types of monopolar radiofrequency: 6.78MHz and 2MHz, and
with SHALLOW / MIDDLE / DEEP 3-level depth modes and
10 energy levels,
it is a radiofrequency lifting device that can design the depth and intensity of heat delivery differently for each area within a single face.
When radiofrequency energy is delivered to the skin and subcutaneous tissue,
heat is generated by tissue resistance.
This thermal stimulation induces collagen rearrangement and subsequent remodeling,
managing skin elasticity, fine lines, and a lax jawline together.
What is the principle of CERF?
CERF uses monopolar radiofrequency of 6.78MHz and 2MHz.
When high-frequency current passes through tissue, heat is generated due to the electrical resistance of the tissue.
This thermal stimulation induces contraction and rearrangement of existing collagen, fibroblast recovery, and new collagen production and remodeling.
CERF adds 3 levels of depth control, 10 energy levels, and 4 tip sizes,
making it a device that can design different depths and intensities of heat for each area, rather than treating an entire face with a single setting.
What is the difference between CERF and HIFU?
HIFU, like Ulthera and Shurink, uses ultrasound energy to
create thermal coagulation points by focusing it on small points at a predetermined depth.
In contrast, CERF does not create a focal point at a specific spot but delivers radiofrequency heat over a broad range of skin and subcutaneous tissue.
Therefore, HIFU has an advantage in selectively stimulating tissue at a specific depth,
while CERF has an advantage in heating broad tissue to create skin elasticity and tightening.
Rather than replacing each other, these two treatments are different types of lifting that can be used together depending on the condition of the face.
What's different from existing monopolar radiofrequency?
Even with the same radiofrequency lifting, the method of heat delivery is not the same.
Thermage-type monopolar radiofrequency lifting widely heats the skin and subcutaneous tissue to
induce collagen remodeling and tightening, which is an effective lifting method that has been used for a long time.
CERF also belongs to the same category of monopolar radiofrequency lifting.
The difference is that it goes one step further than just adjusting intensity, allowing the design to differentiate even the depth to which heat spreads.
CERF utilizes 6.78MHz along with 2MHz radiofrequency, and
uses SHALLOW / MIDDLE / DEEP 3-level depth modes.
Simply put, instead of heating all areas to the same depth,
thinner areas can be heated more shallowly, areas needing overall elasticity at a middle depth,
and areas that require consideration for deeper elasticity loss, such as the lower face or jawline, can utilize a deeper heat distribution.
The core of CERF is not stronger radiofrequency.
It is the ability to select different depths as needed within a single face.
What makes KKEUT Korean Medicine Clinic's SERF Lifting special?
1. Not just one depth, but 3 levels of depth control
SERF has
SHALLOW
MIDDLE
DEEP
three depth modes.
This method controls the depth and range of high-frequency thermal energy dispersion, creating different heat distributions for each area.
SHALLOW
It uses a relatively shallow heat distribution to manage fine wrinkles, skin texture, and loss of elasticity in delicate areas.
MIDDLE
It utilizes a wider and deeper heat distribution to manage cheek and mid-face elasticity, sagging skin, and overall facial contours.
DEEP
By utilizing 6.78MHz and 2MHz dual frequencies,
it delivers a broader thermal stimulation to the deep dermis and subcutaneous tissue.
This can be used for areas that require consideration of deeper elasticity loss, such as the lower face and jawline.
2. Once the depth is set, intensity can be adjusted in 10 levels.
Even if the same DEEP mode is selected, there's no need to treat everyone with the same intensity.
SERF uses 10 energy levels
allowing intensity to be adjusted based on skin thickness, fat amount, sensitivity, perceived heat in specific areas, and actual skin response.
Even for the same cheek area, individuals with thin skin and lack of volume versus those with thick skin and significant sagging
may require different energy levels.
Ultimately, by combining 3 depth levels and 10 intensity levels, different treatments can be designed for each area of the same face.
3. Sufficient Heat, Combined Skin Surface Protection
High-frequency lifting is not a treatment that simply applies intense heat.
It is important to deliver sufficient heat to the inner skin while reducing unnecessary thermal stimulation on the skin surface.
SERF regulates energy delivery using Wave Fit Pulse and cools the skin surface during treatment using ICD Cooling.
Additionally, during treatment, it simultaneously manages the heat delivery process and skin protection by monitoring both the surface temperature and the device's status.
Having cooling and monitoring functions does not eliminate the possibility of pain or burns.
Therefore, in actual treatments, we do not solely rely on the device's functions, but also proceed while observing the patient's sensation of heat and skin reactions.
4. Four Tips to Choose From, Matched to the Face's Width and Contours
The face is not flat.
The broad cheeks, under the chin, around the mouth, chin tip, and around the eyes all have different areas and contours.
SERF has 4 sizes of EFFECTORs that can be selected according to the area.
EFFECTOR 60
20 × 30mm
This tip is for efficiently covering large areas.
EFFECTOR 40
20 × 20mm
It can be used when treating general areas of the face.
EFFECTOR 10
10 × 10mm
Difficult to access with a large tip,
allows for more precise treatment of small and contoured areas.
EFFECTOR 05
5 × 10mm
For narrower and thinner areas,
used for precise access.
EFFECTOR 60 has a wider contact area than EFFECTOR 40,
allowing for more efficient treatment of large areas.
However, a larger tip does not necessarily mean better results.
It is important to use a tip appropriate for the size and contour of the area being treated.
Kkeut Korean Medicine Clinic's Edge 1
We first design while sitting, before lying down.
The appearance of the face differs when lying down versus sitting up.
When you lie down, the direction of gravity changes, and
sagging cheeks, jawline, volume around the nasolabial folds, and left-right asymmetry may appear different from your usual look.
That's why at Kkeut Korean Medicine Clinic, we don't immediately have you lie down to start Serf.
First, we look in the mirror together while you are sitting.
The director checks skin thickness and elasticity, volume, sunken cheeks, fat distribution, direction of sagging, and left-right asymmetry,
and with a design pen, marks the areas to be treated intensively, and conversely, the areas where deep energy
should not be applied excessively.
Instead of immediately applying the device while you are lying down,
we first observe your face while you are sitting, design today's lifting direction, and then proceed with the treatment.
Kkeut Korean Medicine Clinic's Edge 2
Even with the same 600 shots, how and where they are used makes a difference.
Receiving 600 shots alone does not guarantee customized lifting.
What matters is which areas, at what depth, with what intensity, and how many shots were allocated.
For example, deep heat is not indiscriminately concentrated on areas with sunken cheeks,
while a deeper heat distribution can be utilized for areas with significant sagging of the lower face and jawline.
Areas with thin skin and many fine wrinkles, and areas with sufficient fat layers and significant sagging,
are not treated with the same settings.
At Kkeut Korean Medicine Clinic, we observe the facial structure and sagging,
and distribute the proportion and number of shots (SHALLOW / MIDDLE / DEEP) according to each area.
After the treatment, we record which areas were focused on today, what depth and intensity were used for treatment, and which areas had reduced energy,
on a lifting card.
Even with the same 600 shots, how they were used is recorded.
Kkeut Korean Medicine Clinic's Edge 3
Even for the same area, we do not use the same tip and intensity.
Serf has EFFECTORs of various sizes.
However, at Kkeut Oriental Medicine Clinic, we do not decide based solely on the name of the area, such as always using a large tip for the cheeks and always a small tip for the jawline.
Even for the same cheek area, individuals with a broad face are different from those with hollow cheeks and significant contours.
Even for the same lower face, individuals who need elasticity across a broad area are different from those who require more detailed treatment around the mouth and jawline.
The director selects the necessary tip, depth, and energy level after considering face size, skin thickness, contours, volume, and the areas requiring focused attention.
If necessary, multiple tips are used together even on a single face.
We do not treat the same area in the same way simply because it is the same area.
The subtle difference of Kkeut Oriental Medicine Clinic 4
We readjust the intensity based on the reaction during the procedure.
Maintaining the energy level set during consultation unconditionally until the end of the procedure is not a customized treatment.
Even with the same energy, some areas might feel comfortable, while others might experience a rapid increase in heat sensation.
Therefore, during the procedure, we continuously check the patient's sensation of heat, discomfort, skin redness, actual skin reactions, and the device's monitoring information.
If necessary, we readjust the intensity even within the same face.
Enduring unconditionally strong energy is not what makes a good high-frequency lifting treatment.
While using sufficient energy for effectiveness, the intensity for each area is determined within a range that minimizes unnecessary skin damage.
Recommended for these individuals
Those concerned about both fine wrinkles and skin texture
Those whose skin feels looser and less elastic than before
Those concerned about cheek sagging and reduced elasticity around the nasolabial folds
Those whose jawline has become indistinct, making their facial contour appear collapsed
Those with significant differences in skin thickness and sagging across areas like the eyes, cheeks, and lower face
Rather than a single depth of high-frequency treatment
Those who desire customized lifting for each area
Those who desire lifting without injections or microneedles
Those who wish to reduce the burden of recovery time
A message from the Chief Director
Finally, not all high-frequency treatments are the same lifting procedure.
What's important in high-frequency lifting is not just how strongly the treatment was performed.
What is important is where, at what depth, and how much energy was applied.
Serf has two frequencies, three depths, ten intensities, and tips of various sizes.
However, having many functions does not automatically result in a customized procedure.
At Kkeut Oriental Medicine Clinic, we first examine the face while the patient is seated.
We check skin thickness, volume, hollowness, sagging, and asymmetry, then mark the areas to be treated today with a design pen.
Then, we treat each area differently: some superficially, some deeply, some intensely, and some cautiously.
And we record these details on the lifting card.
Our goal is not to use all the various functions that Serf offers.
Our goal is to select and use the functions necessary for each patient's face.
Same high-frequency treatment,
Different depths.
Same Serf,
Different treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is the biggest difference between Serf and existing Thermage-type RF treatments?
Both use monopolar radiofrequency to deliver heat to the skin and subcutaneous tissue, inducing collagen remodeling and tightening. The main principle is the same.
The most significant feature of Serf is its two frequencies, 6.78MHz and 2MHz, and
the ability to adjust depth in 3 stages: SHALLOW / MIDDLE / DEEP,
allowing the depth and range of heat delivery to be designed differently for each area.
Simply put, in addition to adjusting the intensity of existing RF lifting treatments,
you can understand that Serf allows for design and adjustment down to the depth.
Q. Does the treatment hurt much? Is anesthesia necessary?
Most treatments can be performed without separate anesthesia.
As the RF energy is delivered, you may feel warmth, momentary heat, or a tingling sensation.
Pain varies depending on the treatment area, energy intensity, skin thickness, and individual sensitivity.
If the heat sensation is significant during the treatment, the intensity can be adjusted as it progresses.
Q. How long does the treatment take?
It varies depending on the treatment area, number of shots, and the tip used.
A full face treatment typically takes about 30 minutes.
Consultation, design, and preparation time for the procedure are separate.
Q. Can I return to daily life immediately after the procedure?
Most people can resume daily activities immediately after the procedure.
However, temporary redness, warmth, swelling, and tenderness may occur.
Recovery may vary depending on individual skin condition and treatment intensity.
Q. When do the results appear?
Some people feel their skin is slightly firmer and tighter immediately after the procedure.
However, the significant changes from RF lifting gradually appear as collagen remodeling progresses after the treatment.
You can expect changes in skin elasticity, fine lines, skin texture, and facial contour over several weeks to months.
Q. How many sessions are needed?
The number of sessions required depends on your skin condition and the degree of sagging.
While some people notice changes after just one session,
if you have significant loss of elasticity or desire further improvement, additional treatments can be planned after observing your skin's response and changes.
Q. How should I care for my skin after the procedure?
It is best not to rub your skin excessively after the procedure.
Pay attention to moisturizing and sun protection. If redness or warmth persists, temporarily avoid activities that significantly raise skin temperature, such as saunas, jjimjilbangs, or strenuous exercise.
If blisters or severe pain occur, or if redness and swelling persist for a long time, please contact the clinic.
