Combining Laser Toning and Genesis does not mean that everyone receives the same treatment.

② Combination Type: Skin with both melasma and redness

This is a condition where dermal pigmentation and vascular redness are observed simultaneously,

making it important to gradually stimulate a wide area with lower output rather than strong irritation, to induce a reaction.

This can be considered by those with sensitive skin or those who haven't seen significant results from previous treatments.

③ Redness Type: Skin with prominent redness around the cheeks and nose

This is characterized by telangiectasia, a sensation of heat, and sensitive redness.

By repeatedly applying Genesis laser at a relatively high output,

it can help stabilize blood vessels and aid in skin barrier recovery.

④ Fine Wrinkle Type: Thin, dry skin with many fine wrinkles

This type shows rough skin texture and reduced elasticity due to lack of moisture.

By deeply and broadly overlapping Genesis laser application,

the treatment aims to induce collagen production in the dermis and improve skin texture.

⑤ Pore Type: Skin concerned with acne scars and enlarged pores

Often, this involves reduced elasticity around pores or accompanying traces from acne.

What is melasma, and how is it different from general blemishes?

Melasma is not merely a problem where excessive melanin pigment is produced and remains in the skin.

Melanocytes, pigment cells located in the deeper layers of the skin, become excessively activated.

The melanin produced by these cells repeatedly spreads over a wide area,

penetrating deep into the dermis and persisting for a long time as a complex form of hyperpigmentation.

External stimuli, particularly UV radiation and hormonal changes, can be major causes of melanocyte activation.

During this process, subtle inflammatory reactions and vascular factors within the skin also play a complex role.

Melasma is characterized not by simple spot-like lesions, but by a pattern of ill-defined borders and widespread diffusion.

From a histological perspective, the number of melanocytes is generally within the normal range;

however, the cell size increases, and the dendritic processes, which transfer melanin to surrounding cells, tend to significantly proliferate.

This can lead to more extensive and wider transfer of melanin to surrounding skin cells.

Additionally, in some patients, the affected areas of melasma may be accompanied by subtle capillary dilation or redness.

In such cases, it may be classified and described as vascular melasma.

Melasma is less of a disease in itself and more of a result of the skin reacting easily to various stimuli.

In other words, it can be understood as a complex phenomenon that occurs due to various external stimuli when the skin is in a structurally unstable state.

Therefore, beyond simple pigment removal, an approach that considers both the root causes of melasma and the improvement of skin structure is crucial.

While dual toning may be necessary for general pigment disorders, for melasma in particular, dual toning can be considered an even more important approach than conventional toning methods.
